AMW is an Indigenous Petroleum Development Company and the operator of the META Field on PPL 251, located in shallow waters offshore Western Niger Delta.

META (PPL-251) field is one of the fields awarded during the 2020 Marginal field Bid round. The Meta Field is located in shallow waters offshore the Western Niger Delta.
The field currently has 3 wells drilled, with all wells encountering oil and gas at different levels.
The field was discovered in 1965 by Chevron Nigeria Limited, with the drilling of Meta-1A to a total depth of 11,900ft. Meta-2 and Meta-3 were drilled in 1976 and 1992, respectively, in a bid to test the other fault compartment in the field. Meta-1A, -2 & -3 wells encountered ten (10) hydrocarbon-bearing sands – C5, C6, D1, D6, D8, E6, H3, H4, J18 and J22. The three wells were eventually tested, yielding varying results, and they were subsequently suspended.
